MeatEater x Wild + Co Black Powder Candle
Scent has a way of holding onto moments long after the season closes. One strike of a match can take you back to frost in the grass, eager smiles at first light, scribbled messages on wall tent canvas, and stories told low and slow around a late fire.
Reminiscent of powder smoke drifting across a ridge, Black Powder opens with dry ponderosa pine, sharpened and sun-cured. Leather follows, worn-in and steady. A final trace of whiskey lingers at the edges, subtle and smoky.
MeatEater candles are poured in small batches in Salmon, Idaho, in collaboration with Wild + Co. Each candle is crafted with 100% soy wax sourced in the United States, cedar wicks, and ingredients you can feel good about bringing into your home. Three percent of all sales go toward protecting access to public lands for all.
Important Care Instructions: Wood wick candles are made with real wood, so they burn a little differently than your standard wick. A little upkeep goes a long way toward a clean, even burn every time you light your candle. On the first burn you may see a higher flame - this is normal. Let it burn for a few minutes, then blow it out, pinch off the charred wood, and relight for a small steady flame. On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the container (about 1 hour) to prevent tunneling. From here, burn your candle as you would a regular candle. Continue to pinch off charred wood each time before you light.Â
